Mercedes Benz GLK is a compact crossover. The car perfectly combines off-road qualities with compact sizes and comfortable saloon. The first debut of Mercedes-Benz GLK class took place in January, 2008 at the auto show in Detroit, then the car was brought to Geneva in March. However, it appeared as the concept car. The presentation of production model took place in Beijing. The car is constructed on the platform of the station wagon of Mercedes Benz S-class, however it is heavier than previous modification by 190 kg. Mercedes Benz GLK is made at the plant of the brand in the city of Bremen.
The initial version of Mercedes Benz GLK 220 CDI crossover is equipped with 170 hp and 2,1-litres of turbodiesel motor. Also, sale of the car with gasoline engines volumes of 3 and 3,5 litres and with a power of 231 and 272 hp respectively is carried out. One more diesel option - GLK 350 CDI can be bought with the three litres engine power of 224 hp. The modern and flexible system of an all-wheel drive 4MATIC in combination with electronic stabilisation systems provide ideal movement along roads and good fitness to the movement on roads. In Basic set of all versions of GLK class are included: seven airbags, stabilisation system, two-zonal climate control, full electro-package, heating of front seats, CD/MP3 audio system, fog lamps, light sensor and light-alloy wheels. There are additional options such as five special packages, including the most popular "Premium 1" which includes panoramic hatch, satellite radio of Sirius and electric drive of the rear door. More magnificent package is "Premium 2" that includes: adaptive optics with the washer, rain sensor, driver seat with memory, and many other things. The hard drive for the navigation system and rear-view camera enter to multimedia package.
